Lucknow: The district malaria officer of Unnao, Ramesh Chandra Yadav, was caught in the act by the vigilance establishment while accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 on Monday. A biologist in the filariasis control unit of Unnao, KK Gupta, filed a written complaint against Yadav, accusing him of soliciting the bribe to approve his medical leave. Following Gupta's complaint to the senior superintendent of police and the UP vigilance establishment, it was confirmed that Yadav was involved in corrupt activities. Yadav was caught red-handed accepting the money from Gupta at the district malaria office in Unnao by the vigilance team. The Rs 10,000 bribe was recovered during a search of his office. A case has been registered against Yadav at the UP vigilance station in Lucknow, and legal action is underway, officials confirmed.
